The Tuna, The Whale,
The Hillbilly

Performance / Sculpture / Installation

About the Work

The Tuna, the Whale, the Hillbilly, and the Subterranean is an immersive multimedia installation that explores the relationships between humans, animals, technology, and the environment.

Drawing from family histories, mythology, popular culture, poetry, and theater, the work brings together personal narratives and speculative storytelling through a hybrid landscape of objects, images, and performance.

The installation incorporates video, sound, performance, and augmented reality to create an evolving environment centered around a large-scale whale sculpture. Inspired by a hand-drawn map developed by the artist, the work unfolds as a network of interconnected narratives, symbols, and spatial encounters.

Throughout the exhibition, site-specific materials are continually added, altered, and reconfigured, transforming the installation over time. The project culminates in a series of interactive and time-based performances that activate the space and invite audiences into an immersive world of memory, fiction, and transformation.
